Well, shit

Yesterday while playing badminton, I ran for a cross court drop shot, slipped and jammed my right big toe into my left heel. And when I say jammed I mean, kicked the sheet out of my big toe with my heel. I thought I might have heard a pop.

I pretty much immediately knew that I had broken my toe, however, it was a ladder match and I was down 12-10. So, I tried to finish the game. But at 13-11 I had to give up and go to the hospital.

And it turns out it was broken! Yay!

I am not sure what happens next, I am in crutches and am seeing an orthopedist so I'll keep you posted!

Man, those bandages have to go way up there for a broken toe.

I didn't even get that much bandaging when I broke my foot. All I got was a frozen burrito taped to the broken thing...very good ice packs those frozen burritos

Also, I think it's excellent that not only did you break your toe playing badminton, but you also then tried to play through it. I guess I don't think of badminton as that hardcore of a sport!

When I was twelve and at a public pool, a very large man-child stepped on my foot and broke four of my left-foot toes. I haven't been swimming since. I didn't get a sweet bandage job like you, though...they just threw lots of medical tape and vicodin at me. Just kidding. I stole the vicodin.

When I was thirteen and at a public ice rink, another very large man-child knocked me down and broke my left wrist, thumb, and ring finger. I haven't been ice skating since. I got a bright purple cast, but no one at school would sign it. I ended up just drawing cat faces on it.

How're you doing now, a week later?

Well, I am in a walking boot now but not walking on it. Crutches for another couple weeks, unfortunately.

There are positive things about this though! I am getting waited on hand and foot. Well mostly just foot. (hahah!) I will hopefully be building some arm muscles from the crutches.

I am eating! Too much actually! I weighed myself the other day and was shocked to see myself 6 pounds over my normal weight. For the past 5 years I have been 140 plus or minus 2 pounds pretty much no matter what I did/ate. And now I am 146! Oh well! I like to think I have been putting on some muscle. Just wait until you see these guns!

I was going to post all this but kept waiting till I had a picture of me with my walking boot. But now tomorrow I am driving to CO, so it will be a couple days...
