Bobble-head Benjamin!
I was driving in the car today and thought to myself, "boy it would be fun to have a bobble-head that looked like me!" So after a trip to Hobby Lobby and then to Michael's (because Hobby Lobby apparently sucks on Sundays) and then to home Depot, I had all the necessary parts. And then with a little bit of work Bobble-head Benjamin was born!
Actually making him wasn't as hard as I thought, though I messed up a couple times along the way. I feel that with a second or third try I could really actually get the body part of things right. I used a glue gun to get the head attached to the spring.
And he bobbles! He bobbles like crazy! If any of you get a chance, come over to the apartment to check him out!

How did you make the tiny, curling beard and the apple on bobble Hank? It's quite fantastic! Also, how tall is he?Dread Pirate Benjamin

Boatswain, dude, those are the horns of rock!

Thanks, Steve and Ronnie!
Actually, I was referring to a joke between Benjamin and I about the GTalk emoticons. The horns of rock on them look a lot like dancing "m"s :
(it only dances once, so you'll have to catch it quickly, refresh, or use GTalk yourself), and a dancing "m" is just about the most useful concept for any society to develop. Just think of all of the children flocking to read when they learn that the letters party! &c.

Oh no! My "m" is no longer dancing! *cry*
Benjamin: out of curiosity... Do you know of any particular reason that the "m" would be animated as part of the comment preview but not once it was in the actual comment?

Update: it seems that animated gifs that are not set to repeat will re-start every time you visit a page but not if you refresh the page... Interesting!Boatswain The Fool

Update 2: apparently not. It seems to re-animate whenever the page is not cached (e.g., when someone adds a new comment).
Conclusion: I am still very confused about animated gifs.

Ah. As a mere interloper, I know not of the inside jokes. Rock on.
ps, i didn't know the horns of rock were an official emoticon (rockicon? thrashicon? satanicon?). this is good to know.
